One green roof topic you can’t avoid is Sedum. It’s the magical green rooftop plant. It needs lots of exposure, little water, dry soil, and it doesn’t grow tall. That said, it comes in an astounding variety of species.
At ecobuild the Green rooftop spoke to at least 5 different companies, each boasting the best sedum in terms of weight, longevity, biodiversity…you get the picture. There’s a wide variety out there, and it’s difficult to distinguish between different products.
Not all of the companies list all the varieties of sedum in their roofs, with some just quoting a rough number of species.
